Moving in Norwich? We match you to a firm that knows your street

A Golden Triangle terrace is not a new-build in Cringleford, and the crews good at one aren't always right for the other. One enquiry, one vetted Norwich firm that suits the house, the street and the date.

Where in Norwich

City centre, the Triangle, the suburbs and the villages

Every part of the city gets moved differently. These are the bits the firms we match deal with week in, week out.

City centre & the Lanes

Narrow access, loading restrictions and flats above shops. Smaller vans, more trips, and a bay suspension arranged with the council where the street allows it.

NR1NR2RiversideTomblandKing Street

The Golden Triangle

Victorian terraces with steep stairs, tight turns on the landing and permit parking. Crews who know these houses bring the right straps and take the wardrobe doors off first.

Suburbs & the ring road

Driveways, garages and lofts full of things nobody has looked at since the last move. Bigger vans, single runs, and usually done inside a day.

Villages just outside

Still local, still a Norwich firm, no long-distance surcharge. Useful when you're leaving the city for somewhere quieter — or coming the other way.

Local knowledge

Things that catch people out in Norwich

None of it is dramatic — just the sort of thing worth sorting a week early instead of at 8am on moving day.

Permit streets and bay suspensions. Much of NR2 is residents' parking. We arrange a suspension with the council so the van isn't three streets away.

City centre access windows. Pedestrianised sections and delivery restrictions around the Lanes mean early starts and smaller vans.

Terrace staircases. Doubles rarely go up a Victorian turn in one piece. Crews who work the Triangle plan for that instead of discovering it.

Late September and June. Student turnover around the UEA fills local diaries fast — book a date earlier than you think you need to.

And what we won't do

Sell your number to five firms and let them fight over it.

Send a crew from the other side of the county because they bid lowest.

Claim we cover somewhere we don't just to keep the enquiry.

Chase you for weeks if you decide not to go ahead.

We're a small Norfolk outfit and we'd rather do this properly in one county than badly in twenty.

Absolutely superb service. I had called bill as he was the first urgent moving company that I found on Google, and although it was midday he accommodated my request after I almost got scammed by another very famous moving company in Norwich (they knew I needed it urgently so they decided to triple the price when I have dealt with them before and I knew their prices + they were rude about it too). He was very easy going and Waited with us until we got after hours access from the storage unit. He also lifted all the boxes up one floor, fixed the door that wouldn't open and charged us a fraction of what the other company wanted to. If you need a moving company in Norwich I wouldn't recommend anyone else.

Norwich questions

Yes — all three, along with Hellesdon, Costessey, Drayton, Old Catton, Cringleford, Trowse and Poringland. They're treated as local Norwich moves, not long distance.

Usually, with a bit of planning. Most of NR2 is residents' parking, so we apply for a bay suspension outside your door. Where that isn't possible the crew works from the nearest legal spot and allows for the extra carrying.

Yes — single rooms, house shares and end-of-year moves for UEA and NUA students. It's usually a man-and-van job with a simple fixed price.

Two to three weeks is comfortable for most Norwich moves. Late September and June are busiest because of student turnover, and Fridays go first in any month — if your date is fixed, tell us early.

No — one, from the Norwich firm best suited to your move. The comparing happens before you see it, and nothing is shared with the firm until you've approved it.
